“Tiny things are always adorable”

This is a follow up to my post Cute or not (click on the image to go to the video). Geekbrief host Cali Lewis confirms that tiny things are “always” cute. OK, she uses the word “adorable,” but aren’t the two more or less synonymous?

Adorable means worthy of admiration… though colloquially it’s close enough. And, no, they’re not. A diamond, for example: not remotely cute. Acorn? Not cute. Spiky plant spore thing? No, it’s spiky. Though some may argue. Bottlecaps, bottlecaps are small… not really cute.
See, I don’t think so either necessarily. But a lot of people sure coo at small things and call them cute. I’m still trying to figure out why!
