Juried Art Services centralizes an artist’s portfolio, allowing you to upload a variety of images and choose which ones you want to include with an application. The jurors then look at your works online via the website. It’s a great idea, but the website looks strangely corporate or techy, not so much artsy. Further, it seems very few exhibits are on board at this point. If the website gathers some steam and more galleries jump on board, it will become very useful. Via Old World Swine.
A large ceramic sculpture was knocked over by a museum-goer in the Royal Academy, London. One of Costa Rican artist Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez’s five frauleins met its death against the gallery floor. The most interesting part of this story was that some viewers who came in after the incident apparently thought that was how the exhibit was supposed to look.
