Art in the Memphis airport

I was pleasantly surprised to see original oils in the Memphis airport yesterday. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to get titles and the artist’s name — short layover — but here are a couple of scrappy captures from the cameraphone:

Paul Nielsen founded The Aesthetic Elevator late in 2005, posting to it for the first time in early 2006. He owns a piece of paper, located somewhere in his house (not on the wall) stating that he earned a B.F.A. in studio art from the University of Nebraska around about 2001. While there, he studied studied architecture, graphic design and ceramics, graduating with a degree in studio art. Paul presently serves as communications manager for a small non-profit doing their print design and marketing.
