This sounds like a show I’d like to see:
The Christian Story: Five Asian Artists Today
The Christian Story features the paintings of five contemporary Asian artists: Nalini Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka); Sawai Chinnawong (Thailand); Nyoman Darsane (Bali); He Qi (China); and Wisnu Sasongko (Indonesia). While largely influenced by regional artistic and cultural traditions, their work is also informed by Western artistic traditions due in large part to the fact that many of the artists have been exposed in varying degrees to images from the canon of Judeo-Christian art.

Too bad I can’t just cut out this weekend and fly to New York. Well, I guess I could, but then I’d be in debt. My wife and I realized today that we missed the opening of the season’s first show at the JBU Gallery. This show apparently features vintage airline posters. Not as sad as missing out on the buffet, but still a bummer.
I’m so attracted to the colors that I have a hard time judging anything else about it.
We miss everything in Boston. I’m the only arty one (married to a programmer) and I am a total slacker/ hermit about it.
And with a baby it is about to get worse.
That’s a very compelling image. It gives a tragic scene an underlying sense of hope, I think. The rich, bright colors convey a sense of mystery, and that ejection from Eden is not the end of the story.
