Boston bomb scare

It’s a rather funny scenario in hindsight, the Turner Cartoon Network’s magnetic light devices which were mistaken for possible bombs. Advertising gone awry. Small picture of supposed cartoon “bomb:”

Turner (and the third party advertising firm they hired, Interference, Inc.) should have alerted local authorities regardless of how the thing looked before implementing a campaign where it was randomly placing objects around town (unless they didn’t do this because such advertising violated local laws, which is certainly possible). One way or another, if [Update: "When"] Boston sues they’re going to look really stupid, in my opinion, considering the cities where the campaign already went off without concerns:

It [Turner] said the devices have been in place for two to three weeks in 10 cities: Boston; New York; Los Angeles; Chicago; Atlanta; Seattle; Portland, Ore.; Austin, Texas; San Francisco; and Philadelphia.
